Welcome to the home page of the Paleontological Society of Austin, Texas. Come and join us! We go on monthly field trips and if you enjoy fossils you will have a great time. Children are welcome and many of our field trips are suitable for kids. See the field trip calendar. Purpose: The PSoA is a scientific, non-profit community-based organization devoted to the study of fossils. Our goals are: advancing the state of the science, educating the public, and collecting and identifying fossil specimens. Activities include:

Localities Looking for fossils to collect or just to admire? Follow this link and select Texas from the pulldown list for a map to Austin and Texas fossil localities, organizations, museums, and events. Mineral Wells Fossil Park Based on a lot of hard work by the Dallas Paleontological Society and the Mineral Wells Chamber of Commerce, the Mineral Wells Fossil Park is now open for public collecting, Friday through Monday. Admisson is free. |
